LCHS, Kiwanis Hold Successful Peanut Fundraiser

Members of the Key Club and the Builders Club at La Canada High School, and the local Kiwanis Club, teamed up again recently to collect money for the Kiwanis Eliminate Program, which works to eradicate maternal and neonatal tetanus.

So far Kiwanis clubs around the world have worked to eliminate this death in 29 countries, according to a press release from the service organization. The program is now targeted on 30 more countries where the problem is still prevalent.

Kiwanis Club President Jim Phillips thanked members of the public for their assistance.

"Every time we get out here with the kids, the residents of La Cañada Flintridge always enthusiastically come through by buying peanuts and contributing generously to the Eliminate Program through our Kiwanis Peanut Day Program we put on jointly with our young partners."
