Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 20

Get your golf on for a chance to win a million bucks or head to school on your bike.

1. Fore! The Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services Golf Classic at Angeles National Golf Club in Sunland hosts The Longest Game of Golf from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today. Participants who raise $1500 for the organization are invited to take a swing at a $1 million hole-in-one prize. Teams and individuals are invited to play. 2. Be careful on the streets! Sponsored in part by Los Angeles Metro, it’s Bike to School Day. Be sure to wear a helmet and leave plenty of time to pedal your way around town. C.I.C.L.E, a non-profit advocacy group promoting bike awareness and participation, also has a Pasadena Art Ride scheduled for this evening. 3. The weekend’s almost here, so why not get a jump on reading next months’ Brown Bag Book Club pick, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skoot? The club meets at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month at the , 1010 Foothill Blvd.

4. Both and host parent tours this morning at 9 a.m. See where your kids spend their days and meet the people who help them learn.

5. While LCHS seniors are visiting Catalina for Senior Activity Day, the LCHS 9-12 PTSA meets in the teacher lunchroom at the high school, 4463 Oak Grove Drive, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. today.
