Crime Blotter: Golf Club Waving Witness Nabs Burglary Suspect

Burglary suspect caught in the act, another stroller goes missing, and electronics are lifted from a parked car.

The following are the most recent incidents reported to . 

Residential Burglary 

Deputies arrested a man allegedly caught stealing a wine refrigerator from a La Crescenta home after a golf club wielding neighbor chased him down, a police report states.

A resident in the 4800 block of Raymond Avenue told authorities that she heard noises coming from her garage about 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 14th. Frightened, she stayed in the house and called a friend and family members, who notified police.

Neighbors arrived to find two men outside the residence with a wine refrigerator between them, according to the report. The men allegedly scattered, when one of the neighbors grabbed a golf club and chased after them.

Authorities found burglary tools both near the Raymond Avenue residence and in the 2700 block of Los Olivos Lane, the report states. Deputies arrested Artur Malicon Bandari, 24, of La Crescenta on suspicion of residential burglary and possession of burglary tools. The other suspect remains at large, according to the report.

The 16 bottles of wine inside the refrigerator were valued at $1,200.

Another Stroller Goes Missing

A 40 year-old woman reported to deputies that sometime between 5 pm Feb. 7 and 5 pm Feb. 10, an unidentified suspect took  a $300 B.O.B. Revolution stroller from her yard in the 4700 block of Hayman Avenue in La Cañada.

Grand Theft from Vehicle

A 38- year old woman reported that someone stole an  iPad, iPad case, wallet, and $150 in currency from her car parked at on Feb. 12.

According to the report, the woman had hidden the items beneath a jacket on the floor of her 2006 silver Honda Odyssey van. The items were under the center console. She reported all serial numbers to deputies.

Residential Burglary

A 57-year old resident reported a burglary at his home in the 4600 block of Ocean View Boulevard in La Cañada on Feb. 15. 

According to the incident report, the man told police that his son left the home at aproximately 12:30 pm and did not lock any doors.  Upon the son's return at 5:45 pm, it was discovered that an HP laptop valued at $1200 and an X-Box worth $300 were missing from the bedroom.

Deputies noted that a sliding glass door in the bedroom had been found open.
