Crime Blotter: Club's Clubs Snatched

The following reports were provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Crescenta Valley Station. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Burglary at the Country Club

On Friday, June 24, the on-site manager of the b, 5500 Godbey Drive, reported to deputies that he received a call around 1:30 a.m notifying him that the club's alarm had been activated. Upon arriving at the club around 6:30 a.m. for work, he found a vent leading into the golf bag room vandalised and a golf bag laying on the floor near the vent. The bag, which the owner reportedly believed usually held about ten golf clubs, only contained two clubs.

The club's chef confirmed that the bag was his and that 13 golf clubs and an unkown amount of golf balls had been taken from the bag. He told deputies that the last time he had seen his bag containing all his clubs and balls was three weeks prior.

Video surveillance from the club revealed two alleged suspects, a bald Hispanic male aged 40-45, 5'10" to 6', approximatedly 200 pounds, and a white male, same age, height, and weight, with brown hair. The video allegedly shows the suspects walking toward the golf bag room and disabling an outside light. Both suspects are also reportedly recorded walking up and down a ramp toward the club's pro shop.

The clubs and balls are valued at $860.

iPhones Stolen from Store

On the afternoon of Friday, June 24, an employee at the , 895 Foothill Blvd., reported stolen two Apple iPhones. According to the employee, the alleged suspect entered the store around 2:45 p.m. and said that he wanted to change his service and look at phones. The white male suspect then reportedly excused himself and stepped away, explaining to the employee that he had to call his girlfriend. According to the report, a short time later the employee heard an alarm sound near the front of the store, indicating that a sample phone had been disconnected from the display station. The employee saw the alleged suspect exit through the store's front door, an iPhone in each hand.

A second witness confirmed that he heard the alarm and saw the suspect run out the front door carrying the phones. He then went to the store's rear door where he reportedly saw the suspect get into a black car, identitifed as a Saturn, and drive away.

Surveillance footage was made available to deputies.

Residential Burglary

On Friday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to a burglary call in the 2100 block of Patagonia Drive. The male victim told deputies that his wife had called him and asked him to go home as she had been notified by their residential alarm company that the panic alarm at their home had been activated. He saw nothing out of place in the residence.

However, when his wife returned home she found bathroom window open, wall damaged, and a wicker basket under the window crushed. She then moved to the bedroom and found that a stain pouch containing her jewelry missing from on top of her dresser. 

Reported stolen were two 24K gold Rolex watches valued at $12,000 and $9,000.
