Crime Blotter: Car and Home Windows Smashed

The following reports were taken from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Crescenta Valley Station. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Residential Burglary

On Thursday, July 7 at 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to an audible alarm call at a residence in the 4000 block of Dover Drive. Upon arrival, deputies found a window smashed and contacted the homeowner, who reported that he had locked the house around 8 a.m. when he left for work. A deputy guarded the house until 6 p.m., when the resident returned. After conducting a walk through, the victim reported that nothing appeared missing or disturbed.

Vehicle Burglary

Deputies responded to a call from the witness of a vehicle burglary at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Knight Way. The witness told deputies that while driving he saw a Ford Windstar van stopped in the street along side a parked Toyota Sienna van. He reported seeing the right side door of the Ford open and a man wearing a dark-color hoodie reaching through the smashed driver's side window of the Toyota. Reportedly startled, the suspect quickly got into the passeneger seat of the Ford which then sped away on Knight Way and onto Paulette Place.

The Toyota's owner was contacted and reported a Nokia GPS valued at $100 stolen.

Deputies found a plastic "Vitamin Water" bottle among the glass debris at the scene. Believing the bottle may have been dropped by the suspect, it was booked into evidence. The report noted that the bottle contained a soap-like substance.
