Foothill MWD Provides Tours of Facilities

On November 19th, the Foothill Municipal Water District hosted a class of 5th graders from St. Bede School, located in La Cañada, where they learned about the local water supply cycle and conducted a groundwater experiment.  Foothill is pleased to offer tours of its facilities to local area schools as well as Scout troops and other interested student groups.

“With the implementation of the new Common Core standards in local area schools, we see an opportunity in extending traditional classroom learning to real-world applications.  Having students take tours of the Foothill facilities and engage in on-site activities promotes this integrated approach,” said General Manager Nina Jazmadarian.

Last October, Foothill also conducted a tour of its facilities with Brownie Troop 4751 from La Cañada Elementary.  The Brownies learned about the “Wonders of Water” through the Journeys Program and Foothill was happy to host the troop as they learned about local water supplies.
