Foothill Municipal Water District (FMWD) is conducting its third annual K-12 student art contest with the theme of competition adhering to the phrase: “Water Is Life”. This is a fun and educational project that serves to inspire student creativity while considering the stewardship of our precious water resources.
The contest is open to all students K-12, attending a school located within the service area of a member water agency that FMWD serves (Altadena, La Cañada and La Crescenta - Montrose). Art must be submitted on 12” x 18” white poster board or drawing paper with a one-inch white or blank border left on all four sides of the art. FMWD has a stack of art paper of the proper poster size for this contest in its main office should students, teachers or parents wish to stop in and grab some. Entries may use the following art media: crayons, markers, pencil, paints, watercolors, pastels, cut paper, or fabric. Photography or computer generated artwork is not permitted.
The contest packet, which includes all rules, examples of winning entries, and the entry form can be found here.
