Verdugo Hills Hospital Named a 'Healthy Company'

The hospital was named one of the country's healthiest in 2010 by Interactive Health Solutions.

Interactive Health Solutions awarded as one of its "Healthiest Companies in America" for 2010, according to a release from the hospital.

The release adds that Verdugo Hills is the lone hospital in the state that has earned the award, joining 43 other organizations from various industries, and one of only three other hospitals in the country.

IHS, which provides preventative care and wellness programs for companies, sought to single out corporations that have boosted employee health while cutting costs. Other factors are employee participation and indicators for heart disease, diabetes and smoking.

“We are very proud of our staff for this accomplishment and on being among an elite group of nationwide organizations who have achieved this status,” said Len LaBella, VHH President and CEO in the release. “We hope to serve as a role model for our community and assist other organizations in our service area to initiate similar programs.”
