Sprouts Opens Wednesday in LCF

The first major natural foods store in La Cañada, Sprouts Farmers Marketswill open its doors at 7 a.m.

Wearing his collared Sprouts shirt around town the last couple of weeks, Phil Martini said he felt like a celebrity.

"People are so excited we're here; they'd just come up to us and smile and ask when we were going to open,'' added Martini, the La Cañada Sprouts store manager.

And that day has arrived.

The shelves are stocked, the carts are collected, the produce is piled: at long last, the doors to La Cañada's only major natural foods store are opening -- 7 a.m. to be exact. It'll be the first Sprouts in the Crescenta Valley.

Located at 920 Foothill Blvd., the store sets on the site of the first Sport Chalet. The property was purchased by Henry's Farmers Market, which merged with Sprouts Farmers Market in 2011.
