North Shore Burgers Donates $5k to Local Charities

The burger restaurant participates in Tuesday Charity Days.

North Shore Burgers has given back over $5,000 to local nonprofit organizations and schools in the immediate area, according to a press release from the restaurant.

Through their Tuesday Charity Days, North Shore donated a percentage of their sales to benefit local schools and charities. The program has been up and running for more than three months. Organizations that participated in the program include:  the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, La Canada Kiwanis Club, St. Bede School, La Cañada High School Boosters, La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce, San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School, St. James/Holy Redeemer School, Palm Crest Elementary School, and many others.

The program has been a huge success, the release states. Partnering with local groups, North Shore is able to raise needed funds while bringing general community awareness for each specific organization.

“It was a win-win for us as we were able to expose our programs to customers while raising funds at the same time,” Deb Jordan, Executive Director of the La Cañada Community Center, said in a prepared statement.

The program will continue into 2013; local nonprofits and schools that are interested in participating should contact North Shore Burgers at 818-790-1672.

North Shore Burgers opened in November of 2011. Patch readers have since voted it Best Burger in the Readers' Choice contest earlier this year. It is locally-owned and operated. Giving back to the community is an important aspect of the business and North Shore will continue to “give back,'' the release states.
