The Importance of Being Earnest
LCPC's Drama Ministry proudly presents, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST this September, directed by Tina Tong (MACBETH & THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS). We are excited to kick off our fourth season with this piece of classic American theatre by famous author, Oscar Wilde.
Wilde’s THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST is a light-hearted look at two young gentlemen of 1890's England who have taken to bending the truth in order to inject excitement into their ordinary lives. Jack Worthing invented a brother, Earnest, as an excuse to leave his dull country life behind to visit the ravishing Gwendolyn. Meanwhile, Algernon Montcrieff takes the name 'Earnest' when visiting a beautiful ward, Cecily at the country manor. Things take on a humorous twist when they all end up together in the country and their deceptions are discovered, threatening to spoil their romantic pursuits.
The Drama Ministry will follow THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, with the WORLD PREMIER of GALLERY in Feb. and the tragic love story THE MASK OF HIROSHIMA in May.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, will be presented in the round. Show dates are Sept. 14 – 23, Fridays & Saturdays at 8 pm; Sunday at 2 pm in the Worship Arts Center of La Cañada Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $10.00 general admission and will be available at the door. As a NEW special promotion, every ticket holder will be able to return to any performances of “The Importance of Being Earnest” throughout the show’s run.
