The weekend's 9.10.11 celebration of the city's Zip Code sharing a calendar date will only occur once this century. Many La Cañada residents and neighbors took advantage of that fact to visit various open houses taking place around LCF.
The opened its museum for a few hours Saturday and gave away free bags, NASA bumper stickers and space posters.
The had a steady stream of customers surveying its wares while the offered refreshments and horse riding exhibitions.
The event was organized by Todd Andrews and a group of volunteers when they noticed that the date, 9-10-11, is also the area’s Zip Code. It was designed to honor the unique qualities of La Cañada Flintridge and tie in with the anniversary of 9/11.
