Los Angeles County road crews reported chain requirements on roads in the Leona Valley area, southwest of Quartz Hill. Those roads include Avenue K, 110th Street West, Leona Valley Road and other routes in that area.

Angeles Forest Highway between Palmdale and La Cañada was closed to through traffic, as heavy snow blocked the road down to the 4,500- foot level. That included connecting roads above Tujunga, and the road to Mt. Baldy.

Chains were required on Big Pines Road between the Antelope Valley and Wrightwood, including access to the Mountain High ski areas. North of Upland, Mount Baldy Road was closed north of its tunnel at 10 a.m., because cars were spinning out on the narrow roadway, CHP officers said.
