The Los Angeles Department of Public Works has announced road closures ahead of a storm that's predicted to coat parts of the Angeles National Forest in snow and ice.
According to the National Weather Service, the cold Pacific storm will drop snow levels to between 2,500 and 3,000 feet Friday morning, with mountain temperatures hovering in the high 20s. Gusty wind and dense, patchy fog with little visibility are also listed in the NWS hazardous weather statement.
The closures, which will remain in effect until further notice, are: Angeles Forest Highway and Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) to Aliso Canyon Road. Also, Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Vogel Flats Road to Angeles Forest Highway.
The roads will be open to local residents and emergency vehicles.
The foothills are likey to see hail, thunderstorms and scattered showers.
