Firefighters and police officers battle for blood, food provides funds, and city council meets.
1. The 5th Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive is on! From 9 am to 3 pm today in the parking lot of the , 4554 Briggs Ave., law enformcement officers will be joining the community in a blood donation drive sponsored by the American Red Cross. Local police and fire fighters will be part of the county-wide contest that pits station against station in an epic battle to round up the most blood for local blood banks. Head down and donate your own arm to the event. All donors receive an event t-shirt, tickets to a Clippers game, raffle tickets for a travel prize, and most likely a juice box and a cookie. 2. Baja Fresh, 2637 Foothill Blvd, is offering a portion of its sales today to support the . Stop by between 2 and 9:30 pm with your flyer to participate. Print your flyer here or visit the school's website.
3. If you're more in the mood for pizza, support by grabbing your dinner from , 2261 Foothill Blvd. Order between 5 and 10 pm and a slice of your pizza price will be donated to the school.

4. , 1930 Foothill Blvd, will host a parents' resource session sponsored Crescenta Valley Youth Support. The session aims to help parents remain in controlled, healthy dialogues with their teens regarding all the challenges faced by kids at this time in their lives. The group starts at 7:15 pm.
