5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 4

Report cards head home, Acorn Bear reads a story and the staff at LCHS receive a much-deserved thank you.

1. Toddler Treks with Acorn Bear at . From 10:30-11:30 a.m. parents (caretakers) and children ages two to four  are invited to story time and crafts at the gardens. The cost is $45, $35 for members. T-shirts are included.

2. How did your student fare this quarter? Check out their report cards, which will be sent home with them today. 

3. They're up early to prep the classrooms, they run carpool, assist teachers and administrators and answer the phone 100 times a day: they're the staff at and today is their day. Celebrate LCHS' Staff Appreciation Day by saying thanks to the folks who work so hard for your kids.

4. is back in court today. The truck driver charged with two counts of murder in the April 2009 Angeles Crest accident is representing himself, and has requested the judge dismiss his case on the basis of selective prosecution, among other points he made in court documents. The judge is expected to rule today. Check back here for today's developments.
