Blog: VHH Hosts Free Health & Fitness Fair for Families Sept. 8

Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) will hold a free Health & Fitness fair, “Camp Fit Verdugo,” on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hospital (main lobby/patio area). Attendees will have a chance to meet Radio Disney Road Crew from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Radio Disney will coordinate family games based around health and fitness, and give away exciting raffle prizes.

The fair will also feature free health screenings for adults and children, including vision, balance, blood pressure, body mass index and glucose (glucose screening will be provided by Flintridge Pharmacy). In addition, safety demonstrations will be offered by the County of Los Angeles Public Health Department, including child passenger safety, bicycle safety, and teen distracted driving demonstrations.

There will also be over 20 educational booths, including fitness training sessions and healthy cooking demonstrations, as well as participation from local community organizations, including the American Heart Association, Glendale Healthy Kids, Crescenta Valley Drug and Alcohol Coalition and the La Canada YMCA

Parking will be available in the East Lot (corner of Verdugo and La Tour Way) and in the upper parking structure. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, please call (818) 952-2227.
