Updated: Police are Looking for See's Candies Robbery Suspect

An unidentified man robbed the La Cañada candy store Monday night for an undisclosed amount of money.

Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a man who robbed See's Candies Monday night, and fled on foot down Verdugo Road, authorities said Tuesday.

Two female employees were working at the store at 1133 Foothill Blvd. at 6 p.m. Monday when a man wearing a long-sleeve, dark blue shirt and blue jeans asked the clerks to lock the door and give him all the money in the registers, said Sgt. Ray Harley.

No customers were in the store at the time, he said.

Although neither clerk saw a weapon, the robber simulated a weapon under his clothes, Harley said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with black hair, between the ages of 25 and 30 and weighing approximately 190 pounds. He wore sunglasses with a green ball cap that had white letters.

Because the store is located at the busy intersection of Foothill and La Cañada Boulevards, the latter which turns into Verdugo Boulevard heading south, authorities believe someone might have spotted the fleeing robber.

Anyone who has any information is asked to call the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station at 818-248-3464.
