Assault Rifles Stolen
A resident in the 4500 block of Castle Road reported to police that unidentified people ransacked his house and stole thousands of dollars worth of weaponry and other items.
On Aug. 19, the resident found boxes overturned and their contents strewn about. Missing were his AR-15 rifles, a Smith & Wesson handgun, laptop, and coins. The loss was estimated at roughly $3,000. Police found pry marks on the French doors.
Spate of Vehicle Burglaries
In the span of a day, unidentified suspects broke into multiple unlocked cars parked on Lasheart Drive and nearby Flanders and Salisbury roads, and stole thousands of dollars worth of items ranging from golf clubs and DVDs to credit cards and a brief case.
The Aug. 19 incidents happened throughout the day and near Edison Field, a known hangout for juveniles, according to the police report. Someone walking near the field on Aug. 20 found the briefcase, but it is unclear if its contents, documents, were inside.
Shattered Window, Stolen Items
Five men in two cars reported that someone smashed their windows and broke into their vehicles parked in the Angeles National Forest at mile marker 18.87. Stolen during the Aug. 20 incident were items worth $2,500, including cell phones, cash and a wallet.
Smash and Grab
People reported two incidents of smashed car windows and stolen items from their cars parked at , at Foothill Boulevard and the 2 Freeway. Stolen from the Aug. 20 incidents were purses, glasses, a cell phone, wallet and GPS system. Both victims told police their doors were locked.
