Crime Blotter: Teen Arrested for Cannabis Possession

The following incidents were reported to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Cannabis Found in Car

A police officer found a female driver in possession of cannabis, driving under the influence, and giving marijuana to a minor over 14 years old on April 16. The officer noticed that the silver BMW didn’t stop at a stop sign and was moving at 20 miles an hour near Chevy Chase Drive and Highland Avenue. Upon inspection of the car, the officer found a plastic container with cannabis, two blue plastic pill bottles containing marijuana, and a clear cylindrical glass containing marijuana. The 17-year-old female was arrested and booked on suspicion of the charges described above.

House Ransacked of Valuables

On April 21, a 46-year-old La Cañada female told the police about a burglary at her home on 4400 La Granada Way in La Cañada. When the lady returned from work, she noticed that her living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were ransacked. She found her Rolex watch, 1.7 karat diamond ring, diamond tennis bracelet, pearl earrings, and a Cartier watch were taken from the master bedroom. Along with the jewelry, a Louis Vuitton purse and an iPad were missing. The robbers entered the house through a door near the kitchen.

Burglar Smashes through Glass Door

A 49-year-old La Cañada Flintridge male notified the police that he received a burglary notification from his home’s alarm system on April 14. He returned to his house on 300 Starlight Crest Drive in La Cañada Flintridge immediately and found that the glass panes on the rear door had been smashed. A plate and table decorations were stolen from the living room. The damage of the smashed door totals at $1,000.

Airless Painting Spraying Machine Stolen

On April 14, a 51-year-old La Cañada male reported that an airless painting spraying machine was stolen from his car. The car was parked in front of 5500 Alta Canyada Road in La Cañada, where he was hired to paint a house. When he returned to his truck after a break, he found the tailgate open, the harness holding the machine down cut, and the paint spray machine missing. The machine is worth $1,000.

Mail Taken From Home

A 57-year-old La Cañada male told the police on April 12 that his mail was stolen from his house on 1000 Inverness Drive in La Cañada Flintridge. A few days earlier, an unknown person left a plastic bag with the man’s unopened mail and a note that said “Found your mail in an empty lot on Flintridge and Woodley.” This is the second time that mail has been stolen from him.
