Coroner: La Cañada Teen's Death Ruled a Suicide
Campbell Forrest Taylor died Friday, after he jumped to his death from the third-story walkway of a building at La Cañada High School.
Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Tuesday that the 17-year-old La Cañada High School boy who died on campus Friday had committed suicide.
Winter named the boy, Campbell Forrest Taylor of La Cañada, and said that the case is closed.
Taylor lept from an open-air walkway on the third story of the campus' 700 building, which houses the middle school students. The fatal jump occurred just before 4 p.m., as other students were still on campus.

Los Angeles County coroner’s Lt. Fred Corral told the La Cañada Valley Sun that Taylor was on a cell phone before he jumped. The person he was talking to, the newspaper reported, called 911. Sheriff's deputies then responded to the scene.
